I was in Burlington, Vermont this last summer for the first time. The city exudes a positive feeling and the residents appear to be very content. They have the access to so many activities in all seasons. You see active people everywhere. Lake Champlain is lovely to look at and judging from the number of sailboats, it is appreciated by the sailors in the area. It doesn't surprise me at all that Burlington would be at the top of the list. It would be a great place to live in.

No whining. Even the $50 per month premium for unhealthy folks is better than a huge number of Americans have access to.

We all know who is behind this new law: physicians. What is needed is coaching on diet, nutrition and exercise, not a batter of tests. People don't get fat because they don't know that being fat is unhealthy. Most obese people are in the lower income group, who cannot afford fresh. whole nutritious foods - the cost of which have skyrocketed over the last 20 years. They must go for the cheaper, highly processed foods, which are higher in fat and sodium, but low in nutritional value. It's a sad state of affairs when it's cheaper to feed you family at Mickey D's than it is to feed them a balanced meal at home. But that's where we are in America.
